Archive for January, 2008

Things may be messy for a few days until we pull all the info from our temp site to our main site here on the blog. I’m sure you’ve noticed a lot of changes by now. How about that posh new website?  We LOVE it!!

Anyway, we are reloading, unloading, loading and all that fun stuff…

Thanks for hanging in there… We’ll be all set up shortly.

-Shelley

We just got back from Tucson AZ from an intense senior seminar. This was a workshop with the industry’s leading photographers. They used our image of Tara and her horse, Cowboy, for their postcard mailer. This was sent to hundreds of photographers around the nation. We were honored!

The week was amazing!! We had a great time, met many new friends and found out that there is sun somewhere on the planet in January!

These are the steps we take to continue to grow as professionals and set us apart. Everything we learned, we will apply to our business.

I’d like to give a shout out to all the new friends we made. You guys are amazing!

Here are a few of the images we created while we were there. These models are typical high school seniors who won the modeling competition with this organization. 15 winners were chosen and they won an all expense paid trip to be models for a week.

To the class of 2009 who will be getting their senior portraits taken by us: if you are interested in applying for the modeling competition with us, contact us for more information. There is an entry fee and the deadline is early. More information will be posted soon. Enjoy!

Brand New Blog!

January 16, 2008

If you see this, we must be live! Cool!

With a brand new blog comes bugs, so don’t mind the little quirky things while we run across them, we’ll fix them! If everything ran smoothly for us, we wouldn’t know how to react. :)

Hey! How’s this looking? We are pretty excited about the facelift!  On tbe top of  this blog, you will see a rotating banner that will showcase some of favorite images and other fun things. We will work on that diligently on a daily basis until we get it the way we like it. And we will always be adding new images to it too. So that in itself will be well worth the entertainment found here. :)

Give us a holler. Stay warm!

Shelley and Steve

What a Great Year!

January 6, 2008

Well, it’s that time of the year when you seem to reflect on the year that just went by. It has been one heck of a year for us. We are at a place with our photography we didn’t think we be quite yet. If you are not up to speed, we left our ‘day job’ back towards the end of July. This move was more of a necessity than anything else. We were staying very busy shooting more sessions than ever and didn’t see things slowing down anytime soon. For our business to continue to grow to the next level we decided it was time to jump in all the way, and devote even more time to our passion. It was a good move and we haven’t even thought about looking back.

We have shot a record number of seniors this year. We can’t tell you how much we enjoy shooting the high school kids! They keep us young, and make us laugh every time. To those we’ve shot in the past – we hope you are enjoying your images as much as we enjoyed making them. We hope to meet a lot more of our local seniors in the years to come!

We’ve also shot more weddings this year than ever. We are touched that those families trust us enough to be part of such a special day. We hope that we have given you a wedding album and wedding portraits you can be proud of and cherish for years to come.

For the first time we have entered some pretty prestigious print competitions this past year. We have come away with some pretty nice awards. But then, we say it a lot, we are blessed with great, good looking clients. We did very well in the high school senior categories, which only stands to reason as that is, hands down, our favor subject to shoot.

We have some great things already in the works for the future. We continue to educate ourselves so we can continue to deliver some cutting edge photography to our clients. We have some new sets, backgrounds and props to keep our photography fresh and new.

Our biggest news is that hopefully within the next few months, we’ll be shooting in a brand new BIGGER studio! Plans are in the works to add a seperate studio to our home. The building will give us almost 1800 square feet of studio space. A far cry from the existing studio.

And of course, none of this would be possible without our supportive community and clients. Those that have come to us for their family portraits, senior portraits, weddings, child portraits and anything else that could be photographed – you know who you are – we thank you more than you could imagine. This dream wouldn’t be possible without you. To the coaches of the Bear River High sports programs that have brought us in year after year to shoot your team and individual images – we appreciate you so much and look forward to the years ahead.

So again, to our past clients – a huge thank you. We hope you’ll continue to call for any future photography needs. And, we look forward to the future and meeting and working with new clients.

Steve

We’ve got new stuff! Yay!

Our ideas are in line and ready to go for the new year! These new things include:

Specials for our early seniors for the Class of 2009.
Perks for our faithful sports teams.
And THE coolest Junior Prom images that the juniors will ever have!! :)

Check out our new set! It’s amazing! Perfect for formals, bridals and missionaries. The flip side is grungy and geared up for the cutting edge images you love. This set is so unique that it will make both you and your parents happy with the diverse images we can get. We are EXCITED! We even had the opportunity to call in some of our models to get images for the set creator’s catalog. How about that? :) So these fine ladies will be published soon! (We will share the images with you girls when we get the catalog! Stay tuned!)
