Class of 2013 – Graduation is here! Cap and Gown sessions with your friends.

Dear Class of 2013 Graduated, Gather your best friends and give us a call to set an appointment during graduation week to get a nice, non-snapshot,  “in focus” picture of your big day! You only graduated High school once. This is a memory your will appreciate forever, especially amongst friends. (I look back and think it’s a shame I didn’t have more pictures with my besties. Don’t be like me.)

$25.00 will get you one group shot sized at 5×7 and ready for printing for your scrapbook or memory album. We will send it to you via email and it’s your responsibility to save it somewhere safe, make sure you do!  We usually don’t sell digital files just for this very reason. If you would like us to print it for you, that will be an additional fee. Just let us know. We do this because we know caps and gowns are not exactly “flattering” to most teens, but later down the road, you’re going to wish you had more pictures of your big event! Let’s make it fun and definitely make parents happy.

We will also put this image on facebook for you. You should be able to take it and save it on your phone from there.

Group can be as small or as big as you want, we are going to suggest you keep the maximum to around 12 people. After that, your face just gets too small and who wants a small face in thier picture? I’m going with “no-one”.

We have a busy week during this sale, so spots are limited. Get your stuff together and give us a call ASAP if you want one of the better appointment times. 435-452-1952

We can take individuals as well if parents want a shot of their graduate alone. We will have a packeage set up for that as well. Call us for details.

Junior Proms – March 23rd We will be taking pictures! Prepaid appointment only. Read

Northern Utah junior proms slated for the 23rd of March. We will be doing a day of prepaid sessions.

These will include a Facebook or phone image of your date and/or crew.

The best way to get your date to come here for prom pictures is to make sure his mom knows about it. Moms are the ones that usually make sure pictures are done. :) Been there, done that. – Shelley

Our First Round of New Class of 2014 Models and Reps

Our first SHP crew came in for their beginning mini shoot.  Once a year we network with our friends from the BATC. A big thank you to these girls and their talents. I have a list of them here, (please let me know if someone didn’t leave their name.)

We also networked with local Paparazzi Jewelry representative, Kellie Creager to bring you some fun and awesome images of our Class of 2014 girls. Find her on Facebook. She is great to work with and this jewelry is affordable and trendy. She has options for you so have “basket parties,” open houses, or boutiques. I’m not much into parties like this but I love love love the Paprazzi ones… so that should convince you right there! :)   Trust me, call her and get your collection started!

Back to our 2014 incoming models. There is plenty of time to have normal shots, we like to get a little creative and just play, usually during the last weekend in January since we are all freezer burnt and have a good case of cabin fever. It’s fun to just see what we can come up with. We only do this once a year as a “freebie” for our models because it takes quite the production to bring it together with a team of girls, models and any other local friends who participate. If you are wanting to be a class of 2014 model and are sad you missed the “fun night” there are ways that we can help you get a fun mini session like this, but there is a small cost involved and travel time to our friends at the BATC if you want the themed look. Other than that, we are still booking regular mini sessions with our models. Those are just as fun too so please fill out an application today if you are still wanting to get your senior portraits done with us as well as add some extra camera time as a model. Either way we have early savings for all! Call us if you have any questions on that, we answer questions with no pressure. If you just want the information, we are happy to explain it on the phone. Wedding and Engagement Sale. 2013 Exclusive. Act Now!

UPDATE 1/4/2013 – We have sold 1 wedding package and 2 engagement packages. That means total = 3 down, 5 left. Thanks for the interest! We are going to have fun and make awesome portraits!

If you are getting married or engaged in the year 2013, you may be interested to read this. We are giving 3 couples the chance to get an exclusive wedding package and 5 couples the chance to get an exclusive engagement package. We’ve come up with a compromise to meet a few people half way who want nice images but don’t have a big budget. It’s been a rough couple of years for most around here. We understand that. We are pretty picky about our wedding  and engagement packages, maybe to a fault!  It’s a big deal for you, so it’s a big deal for us. We are offering a bare bones package to 3 couples but we are also going to encourage those 3 couples to come back to us within the year and follow through with a wedding album. We feel it’s so important to get your images in print form. Digital can turn obsolete and get lost or deleted.

Now having said that, here is the deal. $500 is all inclusive. It will include 3 hours at 1 location. This can be the wedding day, or Groomals. (Groomals: The popular new trend of taking your images in your gown and tux before the wedding day to get them out of the way. We love these!)

Those are the basics, if this is something you are interested in, you will need to call and discuss the few other details and get your day booked. We will only be doing 3 of these this year. Our regular pricing applies after they are sold.

Class of 2014 – Model Call Out!

Its time to get out of holiday mode and get down to business! We will be calling and gathering our first group of class of 2014 models starting this week. We will be having a fun night of makeup and hair stylists and portraits. 435-452-1952 Let us link you to samples from last year.

We do this in January for a few reasons.

#1 – It’s cold, we are bored and have cabin fever and want to play! What better place to play than in a warm studio? We are hoping this is a fun break for you too!

#2 – We like to start with fresh images of the incoming seniors! You are our stars and we like to start early!

#3- We are already planning for our destination photoshoot in June. We need models, the models with the most referrals get to go. Ask any of our past models who have went on our destination shoot with us, we have a great time! (even if we do run into crappy weather on a regular basis! lol) We turn out amazing pictures!

#4- We like to play and experiment with new ideas. We need models for this!

Remember we are in Garland, Utah. We put that on the application but get a good number of girls who fill it out that live nowhere near us! Class of 2014 – It’s time to start gathering our Models! We start playing in January!

We have our class of 2014 link up for model applications! Seems early, yes but we have our methods! We like to get you in early for camera time so we can show you off on our website, blog and facebook. (No this doesn’t mean you have to get your senior pictures taken this early. We take your official senior portraits later in the year.)

Before you fill out the form. Read the instructions, they are easy enough:

This opportunity is not free. You will get a deeply discounted senior session for signing up with us early and reserving your spot. When you fill out the model form, please do it with the understanding that you have talked to your parents about this and we will be contacting you for further information.  We do not turn anyone away. The more you help us, the more we give to you. We often need models for test shoots, this is why we love to gather our pool of seniors early enough to use them for upcoming projects. We have a few models who can say they’ve been published in magazines, trade show posters, displays, online commercials, ads, etc! We always need models but we don’t work for free. We pick from our paying clients.

Tell a friend, you can do this together. This isn’t a competition, so bring your pals! We’ve worked hard over the years to form this into a positive experience for anyone who joins us.  Talk to any of our past models, they’ll tell you we have a good time!

The process is starting now! We are already in the works to bring in a hair and make-up team at the end of January to have our first Class of 2014 play date. We only do the hair and make-up team once for our early sign ups as it takes a bit of organizing and work to put it together, so you’ll want to start now!

Second Annual – December Family Portrait Special – 1 Day – December 22nd 2012

This special is for the family who wants an amazing portrait at a lighter cost. Call and reserve your appointment for our first annual limited family portrait special. This is an all inclusive deal. On Saturday, December 22nd  we will set up the warm studio with one popular family background, shoot one pose to perfection.
The Saturday before Christmas is the perfect time to gather the family for a Christmas Portrait. Come in for an express session, do some shopping and go out to eat while you are all dressed up.

The all inclusive price includes

  • Family session sitting fee (Immediate families only please.)
  • Canvas Wrap in a 16×20. (Unique and classy and ready to hang! No frame needed.)

(There will be discounted options to upgrade the 16×20 and add on prints the day of the shoot.)

It’s our job to pose and light you properly for the best image possible. All of our images at Steve Harrington Photography are color enhanced, retouched for the sharpest image out there.

The set up will be like this example below.Our neutral gray background works well with all colors, regardless of families who want to match or contrast,  this set up is how we will be working for the day.  Wear your attire accordingly. We have found that with a set up like this, we always suggest black shirts and blues jeans. It’s an easy match up with family members. It will also give you that timeless look that you’ll hang on your wall with pride.

This is a perfect gift for a mother that has wanted a nice family portrait of her family without spending a lot of time and money. We are able to pass these savings onto you by providing shorter session times by providing only 1 pose, and by having the lights and  studio set up standard for the day. We are only going to have so many sessions available. You will need to call us with a retainer to create your appointment. Half of the session is due upon booking.
